Roma hoping Smalling recovers after international break

Andy Mattioli

Roma remain incredibly concerned about the health of injured defender Chris Smalling, who has been sidelined for the past two months.

The Englishman been out since early September, missing the Giallorossi’s last eleven games due to an acute case of chronic tendinitis in his knee. A recent MRI scan confirmed the injury and the lengthy recovery period, although a precise timeline for Smalling’s return is yet to be established by the capital club’s medical staff.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma will try their hardest to secure Smalling’s return to the pitch after the international break with the objective of seeing him return in time for the capital club’s brutal December schedule—which includes league showdowns against Bologna, Napoli, and Juventus.
