Despite a poor start to the season, Roma are hoping to get back on track partly thanks to Romelu Lukaku leading the attack.

The Belgian striker was recently unveiled in front of a sold-out Stadio Olimpico crowd and managed to earn his first minutes in the final stretch of Roma’s defeat with Milan on Friday night.

According to Il Messaggero, Lukaku’s physical condition is one of the few positive takeaways Roma are hoping to build on in the coming weeks.

Despite having not trained with a team in over two months, Lukaku responded positively on the pitch and exceeded Mourinho and his staff’s expectations for him.

Roma were worried that Lukaku’s return to form might take several weeks. However, the situation has proven to be different: now, Lukaku is even expected to start for his national team in the next games during the current international break.
