In addition to Santos’ Marcos Leonardo, Roma are reportedly tracking Rosario attacker Alejo Veliz.

The 19-year-old Argentine – who so far this year has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances in the country’s top flight – has been linked with a move to the Italian capital as the Giallorossi look to add a younger talent to their roster, eventually pairing it with a more experienced player such as Alvaro Morata – who remains Mourinho’s preferred choice – Marko Arnautovic or Alexis Sanchez.

According to La Repubblica, Roma have held talks with Veliz in the past weeks and are keen on the player’s versatility and potential up front.

Rosario are reportedly looking to earn €15 million from Veliz’s sale which amounts to the release clause present in Veliz’s current contract. However, this amount could eventually decrease due to Rosario’s poor financial conditions.
