Roma are engaged in talks for Stephan El Shaarawy’s renewal as the player edges closer to the expiry of his contract with the club.
In recent weeks, Roma initiated contact with El Shaarawy’s entourage in order to hold preliminary discussions regarding the possibility of extending the attacker’s stay in the Italian capital, reports La Repubblica.
At the moment, however, Roma are unable to match El Shaarawy’s current salary of €3.5 million and will need the player to considerably lower his financial demands for an agreement to take place.
