Roma initiate talks to extend Mkhitaryan’s contract

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s form picked up once Mourinho made him the team’s focal point in the midfield, with Armenian international providing stability and experience in a key area of the pitch.

Italian newspaper Il Tempo reports that the Giallorossi are very much encouraged by Mkhitaryan’s recent stretch of performances and want to confirm him for at least another season.

The capital club have reportedly initiated talks with the player’s agent – Mino Raiola – to extend his contract.

According to earlier reports, Roma may consider extending his contract over the next two seasons which would allow the club to lower Mkhitaryan’s considerable salary.
