Corriere dello Sport have reported that Roma are eyeing Sassuolo pair Deomenico Berardi and Matteo Politano.
Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco is very familiar with both players and helped the duo go from young, unproven players to ones who have drawn interest throughout Italy due to their strong performances. The Giallorossi tried for Berardi last summer and even in January, though, with salvation in Serie A not guaranteed, the Emilian side wanted to keep hold of their best player. Di Francesco has never hidden his admiration for Berardi and the Giallorossi could, again, try for a reunion this summer. The not-so-great season of the attacker has lowered his price and considering the good relations between Roma and Sassuolo, the negotiation could start again. Roma could even insert into the operation Gregoire Defrel, who could return to Sassuolo to “re-launch” himself after a bad season with the Giallorossi, which was filled with many injuries.
