Roma keen to keep hold of Veretout despite Napoli interest

Napoli continue to express their interest in Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout, but the Giallorossi have made it clear the Frenchman is a key piece to their project.

Sky Sport reports that the Partenopei are keen to purchase the midfielder, but don’t have the means to do so until finalising the sale of Kalidou Koulibaly.

Veretout’s agent visited Napoli’s preseason retreat within the last few days and did not even discuss the player with Gennaro Gattuso’s side: they held talks for another client of his already at Napoli, Elseid Hysaj.

Nonetheless, Roma do not want to sell Veretout and the player himself does not seem to want to depart the Italian capital.
