Roma are leading Italy’s top flight in an important statistic that could turn out to be promising for the club’s long-term future.

Jose Mourinho and his staff, in fact, have continued to pay attention to the Roma Primavera team, borrowing their brightest talents from time to time and occasionally developing them into important first team players like Edoardo Bove or Nicola Zalewski.

According to Transfermarket, last night’s senior appearance for Luigi Cherubini versus Slavia Praha marked the tenth debut for a youth product of Roma’s own academy since 2021/22.

This, in turn, puts Roma on top of Serie A with regards to the number of Primavera players making their respective debuts for the first team.

Pagano, Volpato, Keramitsis, Felix, Faticanti, D’Alessio, Cherubini, Tahirovic, Missori and Majchrzak are among the ones to have made their senior debut for Roma over the last two years.

Juventus and Hellas Verona are trailing behind with 7 youth players featuring for their first team.
