Legendary Roma defender Aldair shared his thoughts on the club potentially acquiring Marcos Leonardo from Santos.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Aldair described Leonardo’s fit with the Giallorossi.
“I know that Roma had been following this boy for some time and that Lazio had also been mentioned as a potential destination for him,” Aldair told the Italian newspaper.
“I’ve seen him play several times and liked what I saw. He moves well, he sees the goal, but he is a very young lad, his future is yet to be written. He certainly started well in Santos and that counts for a lot. For a young player like him, having an important coach like Mourinho by his side can be fundamental to his growth.”
“He has a very particular way of playing, but inside the box his great finishing ability reminds me of Careca. He is the type of striker that Mourinho likes, he moves a lot all over the pitch. He is a player who can be very important for Roma also in the future, he has enormous margins for growth.”
