Roma legend Bruno Conti had high praise for manager Jose Mourinho in a recent interview with Il Giornale.
The former captain and World Cup winner discussed Mourinho’s role at the club and his impact on the ways of working at Trigoria.
“He’s the best man for the job, without a doubt. I witness Mourinho’s daily life at Trigoria and I can assure you that he is a great leader, a great coach, and a great person. For me he is Number One.”
“I emphasize one aspect: the people – the fans immediately understand the genuineness of him as a person. Rome is crazy about Mourinho. The stadium has been sold out for two years!”
“His temperament, his words, that’s him wanting to defend his club at all costs. That’s the team. From the leaders of the team to the Primavera players. And if he leaves Trigoria and sees a child who dreams of meeting him, he stops and makes him happy.”
“Likewise, he never misses Roma’s youth training sessions. He watches, inquires, asks, observes. He is one who talks to you directly. Can you find a player who has had Mourinho and doesn’t love him? For me, he is absolutely great.”
