The rumor mill is in full swing for the January transfer window. This time around the Giallorossi have been linked with Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard.
According to The Times, negotiations for a new contract for the 28-year-old attacker have broken down and the player is looking to leave Old Trafford as a free agent.
Lingard is in search of more playing time, something he had been promised by the United board upon his return from West Ham. However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær has not granted him his wish so far in this campaign.
The England international is pursued by several clubs including West Ham, Newcastle, Barcelona, Milan and Roma.
The Italian capital club are monitoring the situation closely. Mourinho’s good working relationship with Lingard could help in case the Giallorossi were serious about the English attacker.
