Roma are reportedly locked in a race for veteran defender Matts Hummels.
The Giallorossi are in fact pursuing the 35-year-old centreback who represents an important addition to the team.
Hummels recently departed Borussia Dortmund and will be available on a free transfer after June 30th.
This past season, the ex-Bayern Munich man was voted as one of the top performers in this year’s Champions League, helping lead Borussia to the final.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Hummels is a player Roma are very keen on.
Giallorossi technical director Florent Ghisolfi is said to have made initial inquiries for him.
Hummels, despite his age, is in excellent physical form having played 25 games in the league, 13 in the Champions League and 2 in the German Cup this past year.
The player wants to remain in Europe and is reportedly prioritizing Serie A as his preferred option in the summer.
