Roma can now think more clearly about their future. Gasperini, with a 2-0 win against Hellas Verona at the Bentegodi thanks to goals from Malen and El Shaarawy, achieved a crucial result that will facilitate next season’s planning: qualification for the Champions League and revenues poised to increase.

Now there’s no time to waste in building Gasperini’s second Roma. By tomorrow at the latest, the coach and Ryan Friedkin will sit down to finalize the pending issues, starting with contract renewals.

Three players are involved: Dybala, Pellegrini, and Celik. Discussions with the first two are well underway, and barring any surprises, they will remain in the capital.

Now is the time to finalize the deals. Gasperini is also pushing for the Turkish full-back’s permanence, which appears more complicated.

After returning to the Champions League, Roma must focus on building the team of the future that will compete in Europe’s most important competition.

As reported by Corriere della Sera, the relationship with Massara will end in the next few hours, at Gasperini’s request, not the club’s. Tony D’Amico, with whom the club has reportedly already had a couple of meetings, the last one last week, replaces the former AC Milan director.

With the sporting director leaving Atalanta, a revamp of the scouting department will be planned. Del Vescovo, the medical director, could also arrive from Bergamo.
