Roma are interested in adding a strong and fast central defender to their roster before the end of the summer.

Marash Kumbulla is not expected to stay after returning from loan at Sassuolo – the Albanian defender has yet to fully recover from his lengthy absence due to the ACL injury suffered over a year ago.

Kumbulla’s disappointing performances with the Neroverdi haven’t given Roma much faith in him.

As a result, Leggo reports that it is likely that Roma will seek an additional defender.

The capital club will likely target a young player with pace and good heading abilities.

According to the newspaper, Roma are interested in Toulouse’s Christian Mawissa – the 19-year-old has shown promising things in his debut season in Ligue 1.

Roma are expected to meet with Toulouse to discuss Mawissa’s availability in their upcoming friendly scheduled for the end of this month.
