Roma have not quit their pursuit of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata.

The ex-Juve man is Jose Mourinho’s preferred choice to replace injured Tammy Abraham in the upcoming season.

However, at the moment Roma are not able to match Atletico Madrid’s demands for Morata despite having already agreed personal terms with the player’s entourage.

As reported in today’s edition of Corriere della Sera, Morata’s current release clause of €20 million is deemed excessive by the Giallorossi. Yet, Roma are still considering formulating a new offer worth €15 million and seeing whether Atletico would be open to it towards the end of the summer transfer window.
