Roma looking to sign Filip Kostić: Pedro to exit first

Roma’s transfer policy is simple: sales first, signings later. With the exit of Cengiz Ünder and Pau Lopez in came Rui Patricio. With the exit of Justin Kluivert, Roma are looking to sign Matías Viña and Granit Xhaka in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the club are also monitoring the situation on the wing. More specifically, Roma want to do something about Pedro who was excluded from preseason group training by José Mourinho himself.

The Spanish veteran does not fit the manager’s plans and, after only one season in the capital, is looking for a new destination. It remains to be seen whether Roma will be able to sell the 33-year-old with two more years on his contract and a salary of €3 million, or if they will mutually agree to a contract resolution.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma hope to complete Pedro’s exit as soon as possible in order to be able to sign their number one candidate for the wing: Filip Kostić of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Earlier in the month Pinto contacted the Serbian’s entourage. The player expressed interest in joining the Giallorossi. The German side, however, may demand a figure of around €25 for their starting winger.

Thus, it is yet another waiting game for Tiago Pinto who will have to find a solution for Pedro, before he can move on to signing Kostić by the end of the transfer window.
