Roma plan to continue overhauling their squad this summer entering manager José Mourinho’s second season with the club
According to German outlet Bild, one of the players the Giallorossi have their eyes on is Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Matthias Ginter. The capital club has reportedly already spoken to the veteran defender to discuss a free transfer.
In fact, Mourinho has already spoken directly to the central defender on the telephone, expressing his desire for Ginter to join him in Rome.
Ginter has attracted interest from several clubs throughout Europe including Inter and Barcelona—so a switch to the Italian capital is far from a guarantee.
However, the club believes the sway of Mourinho could tempt Ginter to agree move to the Eternal City in order to play under the ‘Special One’.
