Alvaro Morata is back on Roma’s radar after having been linked with the Italian capital club in the summer of last year.
Over recent weeks, Morata expressed his dissatisfaction with his lack of playing time under Diego Simeone.
In an interview released a few days ago, the player reiterated his desire to play abroad.
More specifically, Morata wants a return to Serie A where Roma are rumored to be interested in.
The Spanish striker is deemed a good addition to De Rossi’s squad ahead of next season.
The Giallorossi are said to have scheduled a meeting with Morata’s entourage to assess his demands and the feasibility of a transfer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have already made contact with Atletico and inquired about the release clause in Morata’s contract.
€12 million is what it will take to acquire the 31-year-old attacker this summer.
First, however, Roma must sell Tammy Abraham: with the Englishman gone, Morata will be able to join the capital club.
