Roma have shown interest in Monza centreback Pablo Mari.
The capital club are famously seeking further defensive reinforcements given Marash Kumbulla’s uncertain return from an ACL injury and Smalling’s unclear condition.
In recent weeks, the Giallorossi have been monitoring several players who could potentially be signed in the January window.
One of these players is Spanish defender Pablo Mari of Monza.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma GM Tiago Pinto recently reached out to Mari’s entourage and was able to entertain a few conversations with them ahead of January.
Mari, however, is not too keen on a mid-season transfer. The 30-year-old is reportedly happy at Monza and remains one of Raffaele Palladino’s key players. He has a contract valid until 2025.
Pinto’s good relations with the defender’s agents could, however, help overturn the situation.
