Roma make first bid for Lille’s Zeki Çelik

Andy Mattioli

Roma are interested in Lille fullback Zeki Çelik and have made a first advance with the intent of signing the Turkish player in the summer window ahead, reports La Nazione.

According to the Italian newspaper, the capital club want to strengthen the right flank and add depth to a position that had been covered only by Rick Karsdorp over the course of the past campaign.

The Giallorossi have thus reportedly formulated their first offer for Çelik, whose contract is set to expire in 2023.

The bid amounts to around €10 million and Roma are now favorites to land the Turkish talent, beating the competition in the form of Fiorentina – the Viola had been monitoring Çelik earlier in the year but the interest never materialized in any concrete offer.
