Roma make first official offer for Matías Viña

Andy Mattioli

It looks like Roma have found their preferred Spinazzola fill-in in Matías Viña of Palmeiras.

According to Sky Sport, the Roman club have advanced their first bid for the Uruguayan left-back. The offer amounts to €10 million + €2.5 in add-ons related to certain conditions including number of appearances and team objectives.

The Brazilian side deem this offer too low, mostly due to the fact that they will eventually have to give 50% of any future sale to Viña’s previous club, Nacional de Montevideo.

Next week the deal, however, is expected to go through with Roma raising their offer to €13-15 (including bonuses). To further confirm the advanced stages of the deal, the player was benched for Palmeiras match against Atlético Clube Goianiense.
