Roma have gotten a positive response from Federico Chiesa after a round of initial inquiries.
The Italian winger remains Roma’s top target for this summer.
Chiesa is considered the ideal reinforcement for Daniele De Rossi’s squad and the Friedkins are prepared to go out of their way to satisfy the coach’s needs.
According to La Repubblica, the Giallorossi made progress in their talks with Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani.
The recent meeting the two sides held resulted in Roma feeling more optimistic about the possibility of signing Chiesa in this transfer window.
However, the newspaper warns that negotiations may be put on stand-by during the EUROs.
Chiesa had told his agent that he wishes to focus on the European Championships with Italy before looking to his own future.
Furthermore, in this period Roma will evaluate the economic feasibility of the deal, as the player’s valuation corresponds to €40 million despite the contract expiring in June 2025.
Furthermore, Chiesa will also meet with newly appointed Juventus manager Thiago Motta to clarify the Bianconeri’s plans for the future.
