After several months of negotiations, Roma and Manchester United are reportedly closing in on an agreement for central defender Chris Smalling.
Sky Sport has reported this evening that the two clubs are nearing the finish line on an agreement for the Englishman, who spent last season on the loan in the Italian capital.
The deal is expected to be wrapped-up between the sides in the coming days after the Giallorossi found an agreement to personal terms with Smalling within the last few days.
The 30 year-old made it clear following his loan spell last season that he wanted to remain in the Eternal City while Roma boss Paulo Fonseca explicitly requested to the club that they do all they can to bring Smalling back on a permanent deal this summer.
