Today’s edition of Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma and Kostas Manolas are in a contract stalemate and the Greek is extremely unhappy with his situation.
Reportedly, Manolas is unhappy with his €1.8 million (net) annual wages and wants an immediate increase. Roma, meanwhile, have been very disappointed by the player’s performances early on this season.
Roma decided against selling the player and since it is now 1 September, the Giallorossi would no longer have to give 50% of any transfer fee for the player to Olympiacos. Roma rejected several big offers for the player this summer and want to hand him a contract renewal.
However, the likeliest scenario is that the player will be handed a pay increase then sold to the highest bidder next summer: another unfortunate transfer ordeal for Roma.
