Roma meet with Hamburg’s Jonas Boldt for Sporting Director role

After having met with Ralf Rangnick in August, the Friedkin’s continue to look in Germany to find the new Sporting Director of Roma.

Il Tempo reports that last Thursday, Dan and Ryan Friedkin met with Jonas Boldt, the current Sporting Director of Hamburg, with whom he has a contract expiring in June 2021.

It was a three-hour long chat where the 38 year-old explained his philosophy and ideas to the father-son duo.

Boldt began his football career under the mentorship of former Roma manager Rudi Völler at Bayer Leverkusen, where he began working as a scout before ultimately risking to the role of Sporting Director.

The Friedkin’s continue to eye several profiles for the vacant role, but Roma CEO Guido Fienga is still waiting to understand the future of Juve’s Fabio Paratici. Tomorrow, the Juventus shareholders’ meeting will take place, which is when Paratici’s fate is expected to be learned.
