Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl could be on the move when the transfer window reopens in January.
Portuguese outlet O Jogo has reported that the 25 year-old German is being eyed by both Roma and Milan as a potential reinforcement for next month’s transfer market.
While Benfica would prefer to keep the player, they would be willing to part with him if they received an offer that met their asking price of €25 million.
The Giallorossi could look to exploit the clear advantage that they have in the race for the ex-Dortmund man — an advantage that comes in the form of Benfica executive Tiago Pinto. The 36 year-old, who spent nearly a decade with the Portuguese side, will officially begin his new role at Roma on the 1st of January as the new General Director.
