Roma, Monaco eye out-of-contract defender Jerome Boateng

German defender Jerome Boateng is looking for a new club after Bayern Munich opted against renewing his contract, which expired at the end of the season.

His future, though, could be in either Italy or France as he looks to make one last ‘big’ move before he retires from playing.

According to Andrea Pugliese of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 32 year-old currently has two important offers on the table: one from Roma and another from Monaco.

Even though officials from the Giallorossi have denied that they’re interested in the former Manchester City man, the club is keen to bring him to the Italian capital. Incoming manager José Mourinho would like to add experience to his backline and is captivated by the prospect of acquiring Boateng for free.
