Roma monitoring Barca’s Vermaelen

La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported today that Roma are interested in Barcelona central defender Thomas Vermaelen.

Reportedly, the Giallorossi are interested in bringing in not one, but two central defenders and the Belgian is on Roma’s wish-list. Vermaelen earns €4 million (net) with the Spanish club, who want no less than €10 million for the player. The newspaper claims that Barcelona are willing to allow the player to leave on loan, but with an obligation to buy.
