Roma nearing acquisition of Ibañez, the player will sign a 4.5 year contract

RomaPress – Roma are closing in on another acquisition. Atalanta defender Ibañez is close to joining the Giallorossi in a permanent deal. Frederico Morães, the agent of the defender, gave a brief update to RomaPress regarding the situation: “The move to Roma? It’s still not done yet”.

It’s a careful choice of words from the player’s representative — but they don’t tell the entire story. Ibañez was very close to joining Bologna just days ago (even Rossoblu director Walter Sabatini thought the deal was nearly done) but once his agent arrived in Milano, the situation changed.

Roma have continued to press for the player over the last 48-hours and their insistence has worked: the player has been assured he will receive plenty of opportunities and he has said “Yes” to joining the Giallorossi in an operation that will cost €10 million (a loan of 18 months for 2 million with an obligation to buy at 8 million). The Brazilian will sign a 4.5 years contract with Roma.
