The latest report by La Repubblica suggests Roma have abandoned the trail leading to Mats Hummels.
Over recent weeks, the veteran defender was linked with Roma in free agency.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund man was said to be considering a move to Serie A where Roma seemed to be keen on welcoming him among their ranks.
However, today’s edition of the Italian newspaper specifies that after evaluating his profile, Roma showed no further interest in getting a deal done for the 34-year-old centreback.
Instead, the Giallorossi seem interested in pursuing younger players for that position.
