As the season progresses, Roma continue to be engaged in talks with Zaniolo’s entourage for the player’s long-awaited renewal with the capital club.
According to Il Messaggero, the two parties have already reached a preliminary agreement on the basis of €4 million plus add-ons.
Zaniolo is willing to extend his stay in the Italian capital, yet Roma are reportedly in no hurry to make the agreement official.
The newspaper reports that the Friedkins have instructed General Manager Tiago Pinto to take his time with the negotiations considering Zaniolo’s current contract is set to expire in 2024.
Pinto’s objective will be to mediate between the two sides. The director is expected to meet with Zaniolo’s agent in the upcoming international break to reassure him of the deal and continue to finalise the remaining details.
