RomaPress – As negotiations between James Pallotta and Dan Friedkin for the sale of Roma continue to drag on, news emerged yesterday that the Giallorossi have sounded-out for potential investors in Saudi Arabia with Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman being a possible option.
Bin Salman is currently in negotiations to takeover Premier League side Newcastle United, however, he has encountered problems in finalising the deal. The Crown Price has been linked to the Eternal City club in the past, however, his interest never went beyond an information-gathering stage.
Sources within both Roma and The Friedkin Group have confirmed that the sides remain engaged in talks and that the American consortium is the only side that the club is in negotiations with. Per their agreements, the Giallorossi would be required to inform The Friedkin Group that they are opening negotiations with another party and, to date, this has not happened.
However, talks between the two Americans remain deadlocked and it remains to be seen if they will reach a successful conclusion.
