Roma are not looking to sign Leonardo Bonucci after all.
The veteran defender – on his way out of Juventus after having been excluded from Massimiliano Allegri’s squad – was recently linked with the capital club.
Rumors had emerged stating that Roma were engaged in talks with the Italian centreback’s entourage as Bonucci priority remains staying in Italy.
However, Corriere dello Sport clarifies that Bonucci was merely suggested to the Giallorossi by his agent earlier in the summer.
Roma, however, declined this option and are not interested in the 36-year-old.
The capital club continue to look for an experienced defender to add to their roster before the transfer deadline.
