Roma are aiming to extend Chris Smalling’s contract.
The Englishman is currently set to become a free agent in June unless he chooses to renew his stay in the Italian capital.
As the veteran continues to be targeted by Inter ahead of free agency, Roma have offered him a two-year contract extension, reports Corriere dello Sport.
For the time being, Smalling has asked some time to reflect on the situation. The club, however, have made it clear to both the player and his entourage that they will not change their offer.
Thus, Smalling’s future rests entirely in the centreback’s own hands.
