Roma offered chance to re-sign Kevin Strootman from Marseille

RomaPress – Roma are continuing to work on both incoming and outgoing operations for their summer transfer market.

One area of the pitch that the Giallorossi could look to shake-up is the midfield. There have been whispers involving both Jordan Veretout and Amadou Diawara, but to date, no concrete offer has arrived for either player.

In the meantime, Roma were presented with the opportunity to sign a familiar name: Kevin Strootman.

A source at the French club has confirmed to RomaPress that the Ligue 1 outfit are keen to move on from the Dutchman due to his extremely high wages (€4.5 million net per season) and that they have offered him to several clubs both in England and Italy.

Three weeks ago, an intermediary offered Roma the chance to sign Strootman, who spent five seasons with the club before joining Marseille in the summer of 2018, however, the Giallorossi rejected the opportunity because of the midfielder’s extremely high wages.
