Roma officials land in London ahead of Chelsea talks for Romelu Lukaku

Roma are rapidly progressing in their surprise pursuit of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

Over the last twelve hours, Chelsea opened to the possibility of loaning Lukaku to Roma for the duration of this season after negotiations with Inter and Juventus fell through earlier in the summer.

Roma took advantage of the situation as Lukaku remains frozen out of Chelsea’s squad and with a lack of attractive offers in Europe.

Roma officials (General Manager) Tiago Pinto and (vice-president) Ryan Friedkin travelled to London this afternoon to directly negotiate Lukaku’s loan with Chelsea.

As evidenced by their flight number, Pinto and Friedkin landed in Farnborough a few minutes ago.

Talks are expected to take place later this evening as Roma remain confident about reaching a final agreement for Romelu Lukaku.
