Roma are said to have began preliminary discussions revolving around Jose Mourinho’s contractual situation.
After expressing his willingness to remain in the Italian capital, Mourinho is now reportedly involved in these preliminary discussions with the Giallorossi.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dan Friedkin’s recent attendance at Stadio Olimpico of Roma-Fiorentina is a sign of the American owner wanting to make the first step toward Mourinho.
The newspaper claims Roma are open to the possibility of extending the Special One’s stay: the only obstacle for the moment appears to be the duration of the new deal in question – Roma want to offer Mourinho an additional year, whereas the Portuguese technician would prefer two years’ worth.
However, as things stand, discussions are expected to continue to unfold across the next few weeks.
So far, Mourinho has dismissed all interest from abroad including Saudi Arabia.
