Roma seem to have found their new target for the summer in Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo Riquelme.
The 24-year-old winger is the new name on Roma’s shopping list ahead of next season.
The Giallorossi are said to be in talks with Riquelme who is open to a move away from the Spanish capital.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma have identified Riquelme as one of the more promising players in Europe at the moment and a good fit for the club’s new long-term project.
Fresh off a season with 47 total appearances for Diego Simeone’s side, peppered with 3 goals and 5 assists, Riquelme’s worth is now estimated at €25 million.
Roma technical director Florent Ghisolfi is carefully studying the situation from the outside and has had contact with Riquelme’s agency.
The player’s entourage have given their availability for more in-depth talks.
Simeone does not consider him untransferable and with a good offer negotiations could accelerate in an instant.
