Roma optimistic about Mkhitaryan’s contract extension

Andy Mattioli

A meeting will be held in the coming days between General Manager Tiago Pinto and Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s entourage, reports Tuttomercatoweb.

The two sides will discuss the Armenian’s contract extension as his current contract is set to expire in June.

Roma are reportedly optimistic about reaching an agreement with the player.

It remains to be seen whether the club will try to extend his contract for another two years with a lower salary or whether the Giallorossi will extend it until the summer of 2023.

Mkhitaryan’s renewal is one of the demands made by Jose Mourinho ahead of the summer transfer window – the Special One considers the 33-year-old a key part of the team and a player whose experience helps raise the bar for the whole team.
