Daniele De Rossi has caught Roma and its fans by surprise through the initial weeks of his tenure as interim head coach.
After taking over from Jose Mourinho in mid-January, De Rossi has gone on to win 7 games for the Giallorossi, plus 1 draw (with Feyenoord) and 1 loss to Inter Milan.
The team feels revitalized under the new manager and Roma were able to drag themselves out of a difficult position in the league’s standings.
According to Corriere della Sera, Roma owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin – although initially optimistic about De Rossi’s appointment – did not foresee the club legend to do so well within such a short amount of time.
The newspaper claims that the Friedkins have already begun to think about a long-term future involving De Rossi as the team’s manager.
