Roma owners to decide on Mourinho’s future after introducing new sporting director

Andy Mattioli

Roma are yet to address Mourinho’s contractual situation at the club.

The Portuguese manager has already expressed his willingness to stay on at the capital club as his current deal is bound to expire in June.

However, despite Mourinho’s repeated statements confirming his openness to the idea of extending his Roma contract, the club owners – Dan and Ryan Friedkin – haven’t made any attempt to negotiate a new deal with him.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, there hasn’t been any talks between the Friedkins and Jose Mourinho’s entourage so far.

The plan is to first secure a new sporting director who will replace Tiago Pinto – the General Manager is set to depart the club in the first week of February.

Together with the new sporting director, the Friedkins will decide on Mourinho’s future.
