Roma ponder Gittens on loan in January, Kvernadze in June

The ankle injury, sustained in the Under-21s, doesn’t seem to be a concern.

But Jamie Gittens’s starting spot with Chelsea remains a pipe dream, given that he’s played just 55 minutes in the cup competition so far without ever appearing in the Premier League.

His entourage has already asked the London club for clarification, seriously considering a January transfer.

Last summer, Roma made a strong attempt to complete the attack, which would also include Gittens’s former partner Malen, whom he played with at Dortmund. Chelsea, however, has never been open to a loan deal, except in an unlikely Koné deal.

Things will change in January, however, writes ForzaRoma.info.

Alonso isn’t considering the left winger, and the Blues, to avoid seeing him lose value, are also considering a loan with an option to buy. Roma are still interested and would be among the frontrunners, given that Gittens had already expressed his interest to Gasperini.

Another player who will be monitored in the coming weeks is Frosinone’s Kvernadze. There have been no official contacts so far, but Gasp is very attracted to the Georgian, also with a view to the future, and therefore perhaps locking him down now in June for a fee close to €25 million.
