Roma remain engaged in negotiations with Manchester United for Chris Smalling, but the two sides have still been unable to reach an agreement.
Due to the difficulties they’ve encountered during the negotiations, Sky Sport reports that the Giallorossi have turned their attention to Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
The 20 year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Schalke and does not appear to be in the plans of newly appointed Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman.
Roma may consider making a move for the youngster in place of Smalling, whom Roma have been trying to acquire for months from the Red Devils.
