Roma have been linked with former Giallorossi midfielder Radja Nainggolan. As the transfer deadline edges closer, the capital club have been engaged in the search for a suitable replacement to Gini Wijnaldum who is likely to miss 3-4 months of action due to a fractured tibia suffered in Sunday’s training.
According to French sports outlet footmercato, 34-year-old Nainggolan is among the candidates Roma are currently considering. The former Roma midfielder is now playing for Belgian side Antwerp, featuring in their first four league matches and recently scoring a goal against Leuven.
For the time being, Nainggolan is only one of the several names Roma are evaluating, but the close relationship with the city and the club could help boost the Belgian’s chances for a surprise return.
