Roma pondering addition of Wladimiro Falcone as second-choice goalkeeper

Roma are still eyeing Wladimiro Falcone of Lecce as a potential summer reinforcement.

The capital club are set to continue relying on Mile Svilar as their number one option in goal for years to come.

Italian media suggest Svilar will soon extend his contract with the Giallorossi.

The Serbian shot-stopper impressed the club greatly and now Roma are ready to make him the star of their long-term project until 2029.

However, the question of a second goalkeeper has not been addressed yet.

Rui Patricio is no longer under contract.

The Portuguese veteran had expressed interest in staying on at the club but Roma did not make any steps toward offering him a new deal.

In the meantime, Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma are still interested in Lecce’s Wladimiro Falcone.

The player would be very keen on a move to the Italian capital as he is an admitted Roma fan.

His signing, however, would require a major investment on the part of the club as Lecce are expected to raise his pricetag this summer.
