Roma pondering new three-year deal for Paulo Dybala

Andy Mattioli

Roma could opt to extend Paulo Dybala’s contract in order to eliminate the current release clause and alleviate the club’s wage bill.

The Argentine forward has found himself at the center of several transfer rumors linking him with an exit from the capital club.

However, Dybala does not appear to be keen on leaving Roma anytime soon.

Despite links with Inter Milan, Atletico, Chelsea and the Saudi Pro League, Dybala wants to continue playing for Roma.

His agents are yet to meet with the Giallorossi to discuss their future plans.

To ward off interest and reaffirm Dybala’s crucial role in the club’s new project under Daniele De Rossi, Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma are considering advancing a new deal to the ex-Juve man.

The newspaper claims Dybala would also be willing to facilitate things by renewing his contract and spreading the salary costs over several years (perhaps three) to amortize the expense.

This would help eliminate the release clause and alleviate the wage bill which the Giallorossi are working on to drastically decrease over the course of the summer.
