Roma are set on pursuing Matteo Prati of Cagliari as their next midfield reinforcement.

The young midfielder is a specific request of Daniele De Rossi who coached him at SPAL.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, in the period of time that has passed since then, De Rossi has never lost sight of the boy: the relationship between them is exceptional, almost like that of an uncle with a nephew.

Prati dreams of returning to work with his mentor. It is no coincidence that he began following Roma’s account on social media to keep up to date. In short, the midfielder plans to land in Trigoria in the summer.

Cagliari invested a lot of money to take Prati away from the competition a year ago: SPAL, in fact, collected 5 million euros plus 2 in bonuses, achieving the highest transfer ever.

Since then his value has increased, thanks to a contract that expires in 2028. Roma, despite this, have put Prati’s name on their wish list: their opening bid for him is reportedly ready.
