Roma are increasingly confident of their pursuit of Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk.

The Girona player is now the big target for Roma who are still looking for a strong replacement of Romelu Lukaku.

In recent hours, Roma opened talks with Dovbyk’s agent after problems arose in the player’s conversations with Atletico Madrid.

Atletico are still leading the race but an agreement is missing with regards to the agent’s commissions.

According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Roma want to use this as their opportunity to make the bid for the 27-year-old striker.

Moretto reports that Roma are preparing a formal bid of over 30 million euros, including add-ons.

The Ukrainian forward’s agent was in Rome today to meet with the board.

Fabrizio Romano also reports that Roma boss Daniele De Rossi has personally reached out to Dovbyk, calling him several times over the last few hours.
