Roma President Dan Friedkin pulled some strings to make sure Paulo Dybala would not have to feature in this evening’s international friendly with Al Shabab.
Seeing as Roma were engaged to play the friendly in Riyadh as part of their recent partnership with Riyadh Season – the team’s main shirt sponsor – the capital club did everything they could to have Paulo Dybala remain in Italy and avoid risking further injury at a crucial point in the season.
In the end, the Argentine forward as allowed to stay in the Italian capital and not travel with the rest of the team, but only thanks to Dan Friedkin; as reported by Il Messaggero, the Roma President personally vetoed Dybala’s appearance in the friendly and paid a penalty to avoid risking the attacker ahead of the next Serie A matchday with Salernitana.
