Roma’s growth over the past year has been clear for all to see.
After seven seasons of mediocre league finishes and qualification for the Conference or Europa League, the Roman club finally secured a spot in the Champions League, a competition in which they debuted with a 1-1 draw in Istanbul against Fenerbahçe.
The credit cannot be attributed to a single architect.
The team was able to first manage and then overcome the difficulties they encountered along the way: in the second half of last season, in fact, thanks in part to a record-breaking Malen, the Trigoria club even managed to finish the season in third place, just three points behind second-place Napoli.
The current season has started the same way the previous one ended. In six matches between Serie A and the Champions League, the Giallorossi have won four and drawn two, conceding only four goals and scoring thirteen.
And today, at least according to many insiders, Roma appears to be the leading candidate to challenge Inter.
The Roman club’s squad boasts several interesting players, and according to a special ranking published by Transfermarkt.it, the overall value of Roma’s roster has increased significantly over the past year.
According to the special ranking, the Trigoria club is in second place, with a whopping €92.4 million more than the previous year. Svilar, Wesley, Koné, Malen, and many others are the architects of this important achievement, which demonstrates how Gian Piero Gasperini’s work is slowly bearing fruit. At the top of this ranking is Como, with a staggering €283.1 million.
If the Como squad was worth €100 million in 2025, it’s now worth just under €400 million.
Frosinone’s third-place finish is also significant, with a €91.9 million increase, a sign that Alvini’s squad is brimming with interesting and promising young players.
However, Massimiliano Allegri’s Napoli are in last place: their squad, compared to 365 days ago, is worth a whopping €78.6 million less. Lazio is seventeenth, with a €2.8 million decrease in overall value.
